Agility competition, 10.05.26

Time for outdoor season. Our training moved outside just this week. So we had a outside raining in this week earlier. The competition was in Viljandi and judge was Einari Pekkala from Finland, we are still on grade 2 level. On the way to the competition I received very sad news that my grandma has passed. So it was mentally more challenging than in other competitions.

1. course. Jumping. I think it was pretty easy course. There was couple of tunnel traps and maybe some thinking what would be the best slalom entry. Minnie slipped two time on the course. I think it was the "new" surface. Everything went by the plan except I planned to blind cross before tyre, but in reality I ran too much into the jump and ended up rear crossing. But all went good. Clean run, speed 5.48 m/s and first place!

 2. course. Jumping. Again very smooth course. There was one tricky place. Just after first tunnel. I made plans to try to blind cross to be safer. I managed to blind quite easy for my surprise. Rest of the course was easy sailing :) Clean run, speed 5.8 m/s and first place!

3. course. Agility. The contacts! She jumped A-frame - okay...but the dog-walk was also not nice at all. I was a bit puzzled how to solve slalom to see-saw bit. I tried to course walk this and that way and I took the riskier move to make flip after long jump. But I turned myself super away from the correct jump so Minnie didnt even look there and went nicely behind the not correct jump.  Well as we earned DSQ. Then i decided to really test see-saw stay. Although the see-say was nice she did not wait my release cue. So I redid see-saw and she waited nicely and I gave her ball and we left the field!
4. course. Agility. I think the trickiest was the start. But fortunately Minnie has strong start line and I could go behind the dog-walk. I could have moved away more in slalom to be more in front for the dog-walk. The dog-walk performance was not nice at all, I think there was only one toe on :). And A-frame was a miss. 5 faults for that. Im hoping that all this unusual jumping on the contacts is just because of the outdoor running...we will see. But it was still the best result with speed 5.32 m/s, so we got still 1st place.
And there was even a overall prices for the best dogs in each size. Minnie won the medium.
