We participated first time in Estonian Agility Championships. Judges were Roman Lukac and Tom Mercebach. The weather was quite warm and nice!
20.06.2026 Individual competition:
Jumping course. The course was nice and flowy with its couple of moments to put attention to! Minnie was doing good but there is room for speed still. We got clean run! Speed 5.3 m/sec and it placed us on 7th. Total 10 clean runs in medium class out of 39 participants. My goal in this competitions were already fulfilled - to get a result! I was already very happy!
Agility course. Again sightly tricky but nice. Minnie had still quite a lot of speed that she did not use. But we managed all the course and it was clean run again! Speed 5.41 m/sec and this time 5th place! Total 8 clean runs in medium agility.Combined we got 4th place in individual competition (from 39 dogs). She has competed only a year and she is just 30 months old. My mind was blown! Also the podium wast just 0.41 sec away! And only 7 (!) dogs from all sizes together managed to do 2 clean runs (5 of them was in medium)! Minnie is a clear winner in my eyes!
Videos of both courses:
21.06.2026 Teams competition: teams consisted of 4 dogs.
Jumping. Jumping course was done in classical way: all team members run the same course and 3 best results will count. Again nothing too critical in the design of the course. But my execution was not very perfect this time. First, I was too fast before one tunnel. Should have blind crossed there. Secondly, one line stretched very far. Should have called earlier. Those two cost us just time. But thirdly, after slalom, I placed myself after blind cross badly. I also did my blind late. But even more importantly besides the late cross and bad placement I was sloppy to send her behind, because I was in a hurry for the finish line. This all caused Minnie not to take the jump behind and we got a very frustrating DSQ. Team got 5th place (with 20 points).
Agility. Agility course was done as a relay (so time starts when first dog starts and stops when last dog finish). And all dogs are running shorter course than usually on one big field. Here is the schema:
